Offering My Life to God, a devotion

Offering My Life to God

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. - Romans 12:1

The lyrics of "Offering" speak of surrendering our lives to God as an act of worship. This is not just about giving up our bad habits or making a few changes here and there. It's about giving God complete control of our lives. It's about saying, "God, I'm all yours. Use me however you want."

This can be a scary thing to do. We like to be in control. We like to know what's going to happen next. But when we surrender our lives to God, we can trust that He knows what's best for us. He will never lead us astray.

When we offer our lives to God, we are saying that we trust Him. We are saying that we believe He has a plan for our lives. And we are saying that we are willing to follow Him, even when we don't understand where He is leading us.

Prayer

God, I offer you my life today. I know that you have a plan for me, and I trust that you will lead me in the right direction. Help me to let go of my need for control and to surrender to your will. I know that when I give you my life, I am in the best possible hands. Thank you for your love and guidance. Amen.

Advice

If you are struggling to surrender your life to God, start by praying for guidance. Ask Him to show you what it means to truly offer your life to Him. Read the Bible and look for examples of people who have surrendered their lives to God. Talk to your pastor or a trusted friend about your struggles.

Surrendering your life to God is a process. It doesn't happen overnight. But as you continue to seek Him and trust Him, you will find that He is faithful to lead you.

A Closing Thought:

"Offering" is a beautiful song that reminds us of the importance of surrendering our lives to God. When we do this, we are saying that we trust Him and that we are willing to follow Him wherever He leads. This is an act of worship that is pleasing to God.
