Psalms, Parables & My Spiritual Walk

Psalms, Parables & My Spiritual Walk

by Toni Walker

As I was moving through my day today, I made a decision that circumvented one I had made in my morning breakfast post. These posts come from my Influencer account which I call: Your Good Neighbor Suggests. The is something I post on IG/Facebook each morning and suggest some of my favorite things to eat in the early AM. In that post I mentioned I was going to change my Creative You blog into a more spiritual mission than it was previously. Currently, it is all about the creative things I do.

My decision was that I’m going to refocus a bit. I had let the Creative You blog lapse and hadn’t posted anything on it since right before covid hit in 2019. This morning I came up with a new blog name called: Praise Him Psalms and Parables, Praises and Promises.  I will leave the blog Creative You as it is and try to be more cognizant about posting there in the future the things that strike my creative fancy.

I want to make this area a more spiritual outlet for my writings. I have been seeking God a lot since January and wanted to learn more scripture and be more of a faithful friend to Jesus, God and Holy Spirit. This blog will help me do that.

A few weeks back I was digging into bible journaling and creating devotions for my Praise Him Green Bible Bullet Journal. Then I discovered this new thing, at least new to me, called scripture writing. I found it on The Ruffled Mango’s Instagram page and was immediately intrigued. I remember as a kid copying my spelling words in order to remember them. Writing is something I love to do. So it seemed like a good fit for me to copy the scriptures, remember them and dig deeper into their meaning.

Bible scriptures and writing them down. Genius.

The Ruffled Mango decided to do one scripture for every day of the week and they had a theme for each month. January was deemed “Flourish” and every scripture went with that theme. I am really enjoying this right now and hope to keep enjoying it.  My idea is to make scripture prompts like this using my own prompts and themes and post them here. But that will be in the future.

I have a couple of things I want to dig into first: A Bee Devotional for the Bee-attitudes and an article inspiration series on ways you can tell God is working and moving in your life.

God gives each of us inspiration each day. For me it has been making God and scriptures more of a focus in my life. I can feel it healing my mind and filling my spirit. And I feel like I am more whole than I have ever been in my spiritual life.

I have been inspired to write songs lately and I plan to just name them like David did in Psalms. Psalm 1, Psalm 2, etc. I also want to transfer my Good Neighbor posts from Facebook here too just to have a place for those insights to live. In addition, I have a few modern parables entitled: Lessons of Faith - A Modern Parable that I want to transfer here so all my spiritual stuff is all in one place.

I hope I can find a lot more renewed fulfillment doing this blog and keep it running in order to see where my spiritual walk is true going right now.
