Faith & Feels: Becoming an Everyday Leader for God (adults study)

Let’s grow this into a 10-week adult-focused Bible study that keeps the same heart—emotions, relationships, leadership, and influence—but with a mature tone, deeper Scripture application, and more reflective prompts. We'll call it:

๐ŸŒฟ Faith & Feels: Becoming an Everyday Leader for God

10-Week Adult Bible Study
Emotions, Influence, and Christlike Leadership in Real Life

๐Ÿ”ฅ Big Idea (Revised for Adults):

We all face emotions, conflict, and leadership moments—at work, at home, at church, and in crisis. This study explores how to walk with emotional wisdom, speak life, lead with integrity, and let Christ shape our influence in everyday situations.

๐Ÿ“– 10-WEEK BREAKDOWN

Week 1: Real Talk – Faith + Feelings

Theme: God sees and cares about our emotional lives
Scriptures: Psalm 139:1–4, Psalm 34:18, Proverbs 4:23

  • Reflect: How have your emotions drawn you closer to or further from God?

  • Discuss: What does emotional maturity look like for a believer?

  • Challenge: Journal 3 recent emotions and what triggered them—then pray over each.

Week 2: Words That Wreck or Heal

Theme: Our speech reveals the heart and shapes our relationships
Scriptures: James 3:5–10, Proverbs 18:21, Ephesians 4:29

  • Reflect: When have your words brought healing—or harm?

  • Discuss: How can we be “guardians of grace” with our speech?

  • Challenge: Send a note or text of encouragement to 3 people this week.

Week 3: Anger That Honors God

Theme: Anger is a signal, not a sin—but it must be stewarded
Scriptures: James 1:19–20, Ephesians 4:26–27, Proverbs 15:1

  • Reflect: What’s your anger style—exploder, suppressor, avoider?

  • Discuss: What’s one example of “righteous anger” in Scripture or your life?

  • Challenge: Write a prayer or Scripture to use next time anger rises.

Week 4: When Anxiety Talks Louder Than Faith

Theme: God gives us peace beyond understanding
Scriptures: Philippians 4:6–7, Matthew 6:25–34, 1 Peter 5:7

  • Reflect: What does your anxiety tend to focus on?

  • Discuss: How do prayer, boundaries, and truth work together to reduce fear?

  • Challenge: Create a “faith anchor” verse card to carry with you.

Week 5: Grief, Loss, and God’s Comfort

Theme: God meets us in our valleys and walks with us through them
Scriptures: Isaiah 43:2, John 11:33–35, 2 Corinthians 1:3–5

  • Reflect: Where do you still carry unresolved grief?

  • Discuss: How has God comforted you—or how do you wish He would?

  • Challenge: Write a letter to someone you’ve lost or someone grieving.

Week 6: You’re a Leader (Even if You Don’t Feel Like One)

Theme: Leadership is influence—and we all have it
Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4:12, Matthew 5:14–16, Colossians 3:17

  • Reflect: Where do you naturally influence others (family, work, church)?

  • Discuss: What’s the difference between godly leadership and worldly influence?

  • Challenge: Identify one area where you can intentionally lead with kindness this week.

Week 7: How to Lead Without Burning Out

Theme: Boundaries, balance, and spiritual rest
Scriptures: Mark 1:35, Matthew 11:28–30, Psalm 23

  • Reflect: What drains you most? What fills you up?

  • Discuss: How can we rest without guilt? What does biblical self-care look like?

  • Challenge: Build a personal “rhythm of rest” for one week.

Week 8: God in the Group Chat – Navigating Relationships with Grace

Theme: Wisdom in friendship, conflict, and communication
Scriptures: Proverbs 27:17, Romans 12:18, Ephesians 4:2–3

  • Reflect: Where are you being sharpened—or dulled—by others?

  • Discuss: How can we handle conflict like Jesus?

  • Challenge: Reach out to someone you’ve drifted from and offer reconnection.

Week 9: Compassion Over Criticism

Theme: A Christlike life is marked by gentleness, not harshness
Scriptures: Colossians 3:12–14, Micah 6:8, Romans 15:1–7

  • Reflect: When is it hardest for you to show compassion?

  • Discuss: What does it mean to bear with one another in love?

  • Challenge: Choose one act of compassion to do this week—unnoticed and unprompted.

Week 10: The Glow Up – Living a Life That Shines

Theme: Our daily lives can reflect Christ’s light to a dark world
Scriptures: Philippians 2:14–16, Matthew 5:16, Romans 12:1–2

  • Reflect: What has changed in you over these 10 weeks?

  • Discuss: What does it look like to “shine” quietly, humbly, and consistently?

  • Challenge: Write a life mission statement or verse to carry forward.

✍️ Optional Group Elements

  • Weekly Devotional Journal Page: Scripture, reflection question, space to write

  • Faith Feels Tracker: A simple tool to track emotional/spiritual shifts over 10 weeks
