☀️ Sunny U – Week 6: Bonus Wrap-Up

Maple Lane Mystery Devotional
Featuring: Rita Logan
📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 & Philippians 1:6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight."
"…He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion."

Devotional Title:

🕵️‍♀️ “The Case of the Glowing Notebook”

Rita Logan sat on the sunny steps outside the Maplewood Rec Center, the last page of her Sunny U notebook fluttering in the breeze like a bookmark left open by the Holy Spirit.

The past five weeks had been unexpectedly full. Not of the usual sort of clues and culprits, but of quiet moments of discovery. Joy in Kyle’s laughter. Hope in Georgia’s questions. Courage in Lane’s quiet strength. And in Aimee’s bold brushstrokes, Rita had seen faith finding color again.

She stared at the blank last page.

“I thought I was supposed to solve mysteries,” she said aloud, chewing the tip of her pen. “But maybe sometimes… I’m supposed to just notice them.”

There was a rustle in the bushes behind the Center.

Rita turned her head, alert.

It wasn’t a cat or a squirrel. She walked toward the sound and found an old scrapbook, tied shut with a red ribbon, wedged between the hedges like someone had hidden it years ago and never returned.

She flipped it open. The pages were filled with old photographs, newspaper clippings, and a hand-scrawled title:
📔 “Maple Lane’s Forgotten Faces”

At the bottom of the page was a question, written in faded ink:
“Why did they all disappear?”

Rita’s eyes widened. Another mystery—one not in her notebook, but maybe written by God Himself.

🌟 Devotional Thought:

Sometimes we walk through a season expecting answers, only to find more questions. But faith isn’t always about finishing the case—it’s about trusting the Author of the story.

Rita learned that God is present in every chapter:

  • In light and in shadow,

  • On mountaintops and in valleys,

  • Through laughter, sorrow, doubt, and discovery.

Your Sunny U notebook may be full now, but your real adventure with God is still unfolding.

✍️ Journal Prompt:

  • What have you discovered about yourself—and about God—through this journey?

  • Where do you sense He might be leading you next?

📝 Write a prayer of thanks for how far you’ve come, and ask for courage and wisdom as you step into the next “case” in your life—whatever that may be.

🎨 Bonus Activity:

“Maple Lane Memory Wall”
Create a small collage of your favorite Sunny U moments—Bible verses, doodles, phrases, memories. Post it somewhere you’ll see it as a reminder that God finishes what He starts.

☕ Final Group Question:

“How has this devotional journey helped you grow? What ‘mystery’ of faith or purpose are you still asking God about?”
